Paintings from last Spring

This is one in a searies of three paintings. I was trying to let myself experiment with the paint and loosen up. It mostly didn't work as well as I had wanted. But after finishing them which took longer then usual, I loosened up.

These are similar but different.

Then soon after I came up with this painting.

These two images are of the same painting. It was too big to get it all in the screen without distortion. My Studio is only 6 feet deep. This painting is 56" long and 36 high.

This is oil on canvas paper, pushing the envelope. It is 18"x24".

Dawn with energy

I was expanding here and loosening up. I did many along these lines.

This is small too. It is 24"x18", oil on canvas.

Stop light

This is small and I am tempted to do it again now that I am more comfortable with painting the sky, I like the composition.

This is an early morning dawn painting. The sky is so much fun. It is oil on canvas paper 24"x18".

This painting is 24"x30" oil on canvas. This is one of my earlier sky skapes which turned into only sky.

This is a smaller painting 18"x20" oil on canvas.

This is 18"x24" oil on canvas paper. I loved
this image and did a few of them. I will try and
post them in order.

This is 36"x24" oil on canvas. I am not sure it this is done. I keep changing the light clouds. But it is done enough for now.

This is 24"x36" oil on canvas. This was one of my earlier paintings were I was very interested in using the shapes of the clouds as more of solid objects.

This is 18"x24" oil on canvas paper. This painting changed a lot as I went along. At first the clouds were very dark and became lighter.
